AMERICA - IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP AND ACCEPT WHAT THE REST OF THE WORLD ALREADY KNOWS!

Global Warming happens to be a titanic problem.

Unfortunately, a large number of people in our country either refuse to believe the facts or just don't understand the problem.

Check this explanation in Wikipedia to get brought up to speed.

The gross ignorance perpetuated by our highest levels of govenment is not only making us the laughing stock of the rest of the world it is also hiding the facts and the changes we must all make.

Why?

Just recently, Al Gore and the IPCC (the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) shared the 2007 Nobel Prize for their work on trying to spread the word on this problem that affects every single person on the face of the Earth.

I'd like to quote Bill McKibben (from his 8/12 article on stepitup2007.org):

"We think the Nobel Committee is aiming its message squarely at Americans, the last developed country in the world not taking this problem seriously--and we think they're saying "the rest of the planet has long since made up its mind about global warming -- isn't it time you Americans paid a little more attention?"

What a disgrace - we're the LAST developed country IN THE WORLD not taking this seriously!

It's not IF the average temperatures are going up, it's not IF the glaciers are melting away and it's not IF carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are increasing - those are all facts. Now, what are we going to do about it?

The most important place is with our leaders - they have to open up thier eyes and accept the challenge of educating the Country so that we can be a part of the SOLUTION.
