Palm Beach Real Estate Owners - Don't Forget to VOTE on January 29th!

On January 29th, the polls will be open for Floridians to vote on the Proposed Property Tax Amendment and the Presidential Preferance Primary.

As far as the taxes go, I started writing about the possibilities back in October - for a fresher look I would recommend checking out this article written by Ines from Miamism.com:

Florida Property Tax Reform- The Fight Continues

The most appealing part of the proposed Amendment (at least to me) is the 'Save Our Homes' portability.  All too often, Floridians look to relocate within the State only to find that their property taxes will skyrocket.  This portability will allow homeowners to temper that increase - hopefully stimulating the Real Estate Economy in Florida.

In addition to the tax 'changes' we will also be voting in the Presidential Preferance Primary.

By this point in time everyone should know quite a bit about the Candidates and you've probably already made a decision regarding who you like, hate or how quickly you can move to Canada once the General Election is over at the end of the year!

Yesterday I was sent a link to a 20 question quiz on all of the major election topics - when you're done, you're shown a list of all of the current Candidates so you can see who is closest to your way of thinking.  The most eye-opening part is where you can go person-by-person and see their views on each individual topic.  It's great because it seems to filter out the majority of the BS - When you figure that the majority of what a politician says is crap anyway, the pared down version is much easier to deal with.

Here's the link to the 'quiz':

Our early voting is open.  I need to get that out of the way and avoid the lines.
