The BEST Place for Bagels and Coffee in Palm Beach Gardens-

Palm Beach Real Estate and Loans recommends Bagel Boyz

OK - so I'm an obnoxious New Yorker - or so I've been told....

But I don't understand why it's so hard to find a real bagel and a cup of coffee in Palm Beach Gardens.

Finally, somebody got it right!

Bagel Boyz has had a store on Military at Abacoa for about 4 years now and I always made sure to go there when I was up in Jupiter- but I was dying for something a little closer to home....

About 8 months ago, the owners - Ms. Pat O'Brien and her 6 sons - opened a store in the Legacy Place Plaza right on PGA Boulevard.  It's just a couple of miles east of BallenIsles and PGA National - across the street from the Gardens Mall  and right next door to one of my other favorite spots - Gelato Grotto.

There's a few reasons that I'm so crazy about this place:

  • The CUSTOMER SERVICE is great - something that is lacking most places these days.  It's great to be recognized when I go in - no matter who's behind the counter: Seamus (one of the owners), Laura or Devin - they always say 'hello' as soon as I walk in the door.  (If they start yelling 'Norm!', I might get a litle worried, but you know what I mean!)
  • The COFFEE - normal coffee-coffee. Your choices are large or small, you get the cup and fill it yourself with regular, decaf or the flavor of the day and they all taste great. AND the line MOVES!  You don't get stuck between a bunch of people wanting "half-caff-esp-cappu-frozen-latte-chinos, with extra syrup and BTW - even though it's frozen, can I get it extra-hot?!".  Isn't that a pain?
  • And, of course, the BAGELS.  REAL bagels like you'd get in NY.  One thing I hadn't seen in a long time was a salt bagel - but they have them here.  The first time I walked in and I saw that I could get nova, onions and tomato  - I knew this place was the real thing.

In addition to all of that, they have a large sandwich & salad menu that includes Reubens, Rachels, Pat's Cheese Steak and something you'll have to try: the Wild Man- hot pastrami, fried egg, cheese, cole slaw and tomato on a hoagie roll.

I almost forgot - they have bialys and Dr. Brown's soda too - yes, even Cel-Ray.
